It’s really funny that I have a BFF (well, two actually but that’s another story). So my BFF, sister of my heart, the other half of my brain, a friend since I was born, is Laura who lives in Los Angeles with her DH Jay, whom I have known and loved since I was 15. Laura and Jay invited me to come down for the weekend and play at The Happiest Place on Earth for my birthday, what an awesome gift! They are wonderful friends and I was delighted to have an excuse to visit. This is just a quickie post with some of the fun photos from our weekend together and marathon 16 1/2 hour day in Disneyland, enjoy!
(The cheapo wonderful bus to LA; funny girls waving their legs in the air like they just don’t care; Casa de Fruita before I5, a gorgeous spot; there is truly no leg room on the bus, but I have long stems)
(We’re at Disneyland! me at the front entrance; our healthy and delicious breakfast; no more junk food at Disneyland; Jay watching the Mark Twain steaming up the River of the Americas from Tom Sawyer Island)
(Sunday’s fabulous dinner in a divey part of downtown, but the best sausages EVER at Wurstkuche; the vast array of handcrafted gourmet sausages; our humble repast – NOT! mine was duck, bacon & jalapeno….; Where ever Laura goes, hearts find her)
(on the bus home, detouring to Hollywood Blvd to see Doris Day’s star, among others; dessicated orchards and endless dust fields on I5 – what happened to the lush farms?; home to fog so thick you cannot see the sun)
It was a wrench to leave but it was nice to be home in my cool grey city by the Bay…. and back to hand-knit wool socks! in August!!!!
