You can make the trendiest brunch or lunch treat in San Francisco at home and amaze your friends. Truly, avocado toast costs an outrageous price in the city but one can see the appeal of a buttery and ripe avocado reposing on perfectly toasted bread.
2 slices of bread (try Acme herb slab cut into a 4″ slice then halved)
1 clove of garlic, cut in half
Toast bread until lightly browned. While still hot, rub the toast with the cut piece of garlic, rubbing lightly and evenly. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and gently cut even slices with a knife without going through the peel. Use a large spoon to scoop out the avocado from the peel, and place the slices onto one piece of the toast. Repeat with the other half of the avocado. Drizzle olive oil over each toast lightly, and add salt and pepper. Eat while still warm.
